Our mission & values

Who We Are

Allerton Community Agency, Inc. is an official federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation operating alongside its housing division, The Coops Bronx Park East Tenant Association (TCTA). Together, we are community-driven organizations dedicated to turning collective neighborhood vision into unshakeable community power.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire community engagement, empower residents, and create positive change through unity, participation, and action. We believe that every voice matters and that strong communities are built when people come together to identify challenges, develop solutions, and work toward a common goal.

Our Guiding Principle

📜 "People Before Paperwork"
We believe that building genuine relationships and engaging people face-to-face is the foundational first step toward creating a stronger, more connected, and highly protected community.

Our Core Values

  • 🤝 Community Engagement: Encouraging residents to become active participants and "Community Warriors" in their neighborhood.
  • 🔗 Unity: Bringing people together to stand as one undeniable force before city agencies and property owners.
  • ✊🏽 Respect: Valuing every single voice, household opinion, and local contribution.
  • 🪟 Service: Running free supportive networks and localized mutual aid to immediately improve the quality of life for others.
  • Leadership: Empowering individuals to step up as building leaders, take action, and lead by example.
  • 🏙️ Collaboration: Working hand-in-hand with neighbors, local leaders, and city campaigns to create meaningful, lasting change.

United for a stronger community

We are stronger together because real change happens when neighbors unite with a shared purpose. By engaging residents, listening to local concerns, and driving active civic participation, we build an undeniable collective voice. Together, we possess the power to confront neighborhood challenges, execute lasting solutions, and permanently elevate the quality of life for everyone across our district.

Translating Our Vision Into Real Community Impact

Our mission and core values are not just words on paper—they translate into tangible, daily improvements for the residents of Bronx Park East. We aggressively advocate for tenant rights, promote neighborhood pride, enforce street safety, and cultivate local leadership. Through dedicated youth mentoring, senior support systems, and family stabilization programs, we are actively dismantling the barriers that have holding our neighborhood back.

As a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we continuously pursue state healthcare budget lines and discretionary grants to inject vital resources directly onto our soil. But true, unshakeable impact cannot happen from the outside alone. It requires local investment from the inside.

✊🏽 The Power of Household Participation

A united neighborhood is a protected neighborhood. Your presence at monthly building strategy meetings, your completed local needs surveys, and your collective voice at tenant rallies are the primary tools that prove our community’s absolute unity to city officials. When we show up en masse, local representatives are forced to listen and allocate the discretionary capital we deserve.

📦 Mutual Aid & Local Community Donations

True empowerment means investing in ourselves. Local donations—no matter how small—form the backbone of our independent community mutual aid.

  • 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly into the official ACA bank account to strictly fund neighborhood advancements.
  • Your community donations directly fuel the initial 4-month operational runway of the ACA Sovereign Food Pantry.
  • Your grassroots financial support turns big dreams into reality—funding community unity dinners, back-to-school backpack drives, and local youth getaway trips to places like Dorney Park!

🎨 What Makes Us Unique: Growing & Building Together

What truly sets us apart is the unique historical moment we are standing in right now. As a rapidly forming grassroots force, we aren't just managing existing programs—we are building a legacy from the ground up. This offers an incredible, rare opportunity for deep community engagement, true local growth, and a profound sense of neighborhood ownership.

Every single resident has the rare chance to actively shape our collective future. We are working toward the day where we all stand together as a united neighborhood—growing together, building power, and cutting the grand-opening ribbon on our brand-new TCTA Community Room and a state-of-the-art Community Center for everyone in District 11. This isn't just an organization; it is our shared movement, and the victory belongs to us all.

"A stronger community begins with a single voice, grows through participation, and succeeds through unity."
